The EnGeoModels research group focuses on the monitoring and modelling of mechanisms related to Engineering Geology Practice. Three main challenges are defined in our mid-term research strategy plan. 1) Monitoring and modelling of rock masses by unmanned aerial vehicles and photogrammetry technics as well as terrestrial laser scanning: the geomechanical behavior of rock mass is analyzed by novel techniques and modeled by numerical codes. 2) Monitoring and modelling of landslides, rockfalls and torrential processes: innovative monitoring techniques are recording parameters of the failure and post-failure mechanisms at our test sites. In addition, these mechanisms are modelled by our numerical codes. 3) Impacts and mitigation of future climate changes for engineering geology practice. Scenario analyses at local and regional scale are performed using the data time-series from our monitoring sites and mitigation measures are defined for stakeholders.
